We have 450 staff operating our services across a variety of locations between Newcastle in NSW and Bundaberg in QLD as well as inland NSW. The Role ETC is currently experiencing an exciting phase of positive change and growth and as a result we are looking to further enhance the mix of skills and diversity within the Board. We are seeking up to two new Directors to be based in Queensland, with a preference for the areas wider Brisbane/Sunshine Coast in QLD. As a Board Director, you will be responsible for the leadership of ETC and establishing the organisation’s strategic direction and desired outcomes. The Board is also responsible for short and long term operational planning, as well as reviewing the annual budget and providing financial oversight. This position is a rare opportunity for you to make a valuable difference in the management and operation of ETC as well as enhancing the Board’s contribution to the ongoing evolution and growth of the organisation. This is a remunerated position and as such Board members are expected to prepare for and participate in board meetings held outside of business hours every month and attend the Annual General Meeting. Directors are also required to sit on two subcommittees which require preparation and participation, induction, industry orientation with networking and participation in the organisation’s activities and events. As a Not For Profit ETC provides grants to community based organisations annually and appointed Directors are required to attend up to two (2) of these support fund events a year. These are usually held Monday to Friday, during office hours. For those directors based outside of the Coffs Harbour region attendance at meetings is mostly online, with the exception of the budget meeting to be held in June and the AGM in November both which require in person attendance at the ETC Head Office in Coffs Harbour. About You We are seeking applications from individuals who: - Are active participants in the local community with strong local connections
- Have relevant industry experience (disability, employment services or training)
- Have previous experience providing strategy and governance in the not-for-profit sector
- Have experience in stakeholder engagement and advocacy
- Are existing members, or are eligible for membership with Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD)
