Join Our Team as a Jobs Advisor!

Are you driven to achieve results and thrive in a fast-paced, performance-focused environment? We’re looking for a resilient and resourceful Jobs Advisor to support jobseekers through the Workforce Australia program within our Port Macquarie office. Success in this role means being comfortable with complexity, motivated by targets, and committed to helping people change their lives.

Why Join Us?

At ETC, we celebrate diversity and inclusion, and we believe everyone has something unique to bring to our teams. We are an equal opportunity employer, and we want YOU to join us — no matter your background or experience. We actively encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, neurodiverse individuals, people with disability, including those with hidden disabilities, LGBTIQA+ communities, culturally and linguistically diverse people, and anyone who may not have felt included in traditional workplaces. A diverse workforce makes us stronger and better at what we do.

What to expect?

As a Jobs Advisor, you’ll work with jobseekers from diverse backgrounds, some facing significant challenges. You’ll need to be adaptable, results-driven, and ready to think creatively to help people overcome barriers and achieve their employment goals.

You’ll join a collaborative, informal team that values accountability and continuous improvement. While the work comes with clear expectations, KPIs, and structured processes, you’ll be supported by colleagues who take pride in delivering real results.

Your day-to-day as a Career Mentor will include:

  • Building rapport with job seekers and supporting them to develop job plans and reach employment or education goals.
  • Managing your own caseload and tracking progress following ETC’s procedures
  • Assisting job seekers with resumes, job applications, and interview preparation
  • Facilitating group workshops and connecting people with training and job opportunities
  • Promoting ETC’s services to local industry and community networks
  • Meeting KPIs and ensuring compliance with DESE and Workforce Australia requirements
  • Participating in team meetings, learning sessions, and best practice workshops

What you will bring:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Resilience and motivation to achieve results in a high-performance environment
  • Experience in customer service or employment services
  • A current National Police Check and Working With Children Check / QLD Blue Card
  • Ability to travel to other sites within the Employment Region as required

Bonus if you have:

  • Certificate IV in Employment Services (or willingness to obtain)
  • Previous experience in caseload management
  • Drivers licence
